Map

The map shows any vessels detected in the 30 minutes up to the base time. The map reloads every minute showing the latest vessel detections. By default the base time is the current time. The base time and date can be changed by selecting the required date and time from the form below the map. Clicking on the Change button will reload the map with the new base time. The map will reload every minute advancing base time by one minute. Clicking on the Reset button will reload the map with the base time as the current time.

Each vessel is shown as a triangle at the last detected position pointing in the direction of heading or course. Vessels coloured yellow are stopped or moving at less than 1 knot in speed. Vessels coloured red are moving at a speed greater than 1 knot.

All Vessels

By default the map shows all vessels detected within the previous 30 minutes. Hovering the mouse pointer over a vessel will display some details about that vessel.

Selected Vessel

Clicking on a vessel on the map will result in the specific vessel being displayed on its own on the map. The vessel trail for the previous 30 minutes is also displayed. Hovering the mouse pointer over any part of the trail will show the speed and heading of the vessel at that point. Clicking on any part of the trail will result in the base time changing to that point in time. The vessel will be displayed at that point with a trail of the previous 30 minutes to the new base time.

All vessels can be displayed again by clicking on .

Base Time

The map shows all vessels detected within the last 30 minutes of the base time. This base time and date can be adjusted by changing the day, month, year, hour, minute or seconds shown below the map. Clicking on the Change button will reload the map with all the vessels detected at that point in time. Alternatively, the base time can be changed by a fixed interval through the selection of a time from the drop down list. The map will reload every minute showing all detections each minute after that base time. Pressing the Reset button will set the time as now.

Panning

There are two ways to pan around the map.

• Clicking on the pan buttons will move the map in the direction of the arrow.

• Select the Pan option under Map Click and click on an empty part of the map. This will center the map to the clicked point.

Zooming

There are two ways to zoom in and out on the map.

• Clicking on the zoom buttons will zoom the map.

• Select the Zoom In or Zoom Out option under Map Click and click on an empty part of the map. This will center the map to the clicked point and zoom the map.

Select a predefined location in the list under Locations. The map will then reload to show the predefined location.

Current

The current page shows the most recent Type 1, Type 2 or Type 3 messages for each vessel detected in the last 30 minutes prior to the selected base time. The page updates every minute.

Clicking on the vessel MMSI will show the Updates page for that vessel.

Clicking on 'M' will show the selected vessel on the map at the time of detection.

Clicking on 'H' will show the History for the selected vessel.

Static

The static page shows all the detected Type 5 messages. The page updates each minute.

All Vessels

By default the Type 5 messages detected for all vessels 30 minutes before the base time are shown. This list is ordered by most recently detected first.

Clicking on the vessel MMSI will display the Type 5 messages detected for the selected vessel.

Selected Vessel

The static page for a selected vessel shows all the detected Type 5 messages for the vessel prior to the base time period.

History

The history page shows the time period over which Type 1, Type 2 and Type 3 messages were detected for each vessel on the selected day. It also lists the total number of Type 1, Type 2 or Type 3 messages detected.

Clicking on 'M' will show the selected vessel on the map at the time of first detection or time of last detection.

All Vessels

By default the history is shown for all vessels on the selected day.

Clicking on the vessel MMSI will display the history for the selected vessel.

Selected Vessel

The history for a selected vessel shows all the days when a Type 1, Type 2 or Type 3 message was detected prior to and including the selected day.

Search

The search page allows a search to be made of all the static messages.
